ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services ? Central Zone is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant to join the Hospitalist Program at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander, NL.

Central Zone is the second largest health zone in NL Health Services, serving approximately 90,000 people across 176 communities. The region extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west ? encompassing more than half the total land mass of the island of Newfoundland. Central Zone provides a variety of primary, secondary, long-term care, community health, and enhanced secondary services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible for licensure as a Clinical Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Must satisfy privileging and credentialing requirements of NL Health Services Central Zone

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as a member of the Hospitalist team to assist physicians with patient rounds, admissions, and discharges
  • Perform other duties as required within the scope and qualifications of the Clinical Assistant licence
  • Provide after-hours, weekend, and statutory holiday on-call coverage as assigned
  • Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. The successful candidate will have access to paid leave, medical and dental insurance, and pension contributions.

Available Incentives:

  • Physician Signing Bonus ? CAD 150,000
  • Come Home Incentive ? CAD 50,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
