Investment Analyst – Alternative Fixed Income

Vestcor Inc. has a full-time position available for an Investment Analyst - Alternative Fixed Income.

Located in Fredericton, Vestcor is the largest investment manager in Atlantic Canada, providing global investment management services to 11 different client groups representing approximately $24.4 billion in assets under management. We also provide administration services to 11 pension plans and five employee benefit plans.

The Investment Analyst - Alternative Fixed Income reports to the Vice President, Fixed Income and works with the Fixed Income Team, performing foundational research and analysis activities in support of the team's Portfolio Managers. The responsibilities of the position include researching alternative fixed income markets; analyzing investment opportunities; supporting investment transaction analyses including financial modeling, due diligence, and structuring; supporting cash management activities; and performing risk analysis and portfolio monitoring. This position will also mentor Fixed Income Associates.

The ideal candidate requires a post-secondary business degree with a strong understanding of the capital markets. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or being a current CFA program candidate would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, strong computer application skills, and fundamental research and data analytical skills. Written and spoken competence in English is required.
