Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality welds on a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) using SMAW, FCAW, MIG, TIG, and other welding methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and ensure accurate execution.
- Inspect welds for quality, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards. Perform any necessary grinding or polishing.
- Set up and maintain welding equipment, adjusting settings as needed for different materials. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Work with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on welding experience is required
- Proficiency in SMAW, FCAW (CWB certification)
- Experience with F3-F4 SMAW
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong team player who can also work independently when needed
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor
- Committed to maintaining a strong safety culture
- Willingness to travel within Atlantic Canada as necessary
- Valid driver's license
Position Details
- Hourly Rate: Competitive wages based on experience
- Hours: 44 hours per week
- Shift: Monday to Friday with overtime and weekends as needed.
Signing bonus offered for 5+ years of relevant experience.
