What is the opportunity?
As an Optimization Developer within the Platform Technology team, you'll drive continuous improvements to website performance and user experience across RBCx and its portfolio companies. Working with data from Google Search Console, Conductor, and other monitoring tools, you'll identify and implement targeted fixes that enhance site speed, usability, and search visibility. This role involves hands-on coding using Javascript, HTML, PHP, and WPVIP to resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize user journeys, and ensure technical recommendations are executed effectively. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize optimization opportunities and monitor their impact.

What will you do?

• Analyze website performance data from Google Search Console, Conductor, and monitoring tools to identify optimization opportunities
• Conduct site audits to pinpoint performance bottlenecks, usability friction points, and technical issues impacting user experience
• Implement targeted code fixes using PHP, Javascript, and WPVIP to resolve performance and usability issues
• Monitor and troubleshoot plugin conflicts and system updates to maintain site stability and performance
• Ensure web components comply with WCAG guidelines, implementing semantic markup and accessible interaction patterns
• Optimize existing templates and modules for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to prioritize optimization recommendations and track their impact
• Document and communicate performance improvements and technical decisions to cross-functional teams

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 3+ years hands-on experience with PHP, Javascript, WPVIP, WordPress, and Git
• Proficiency with browser developer tools, performance monitoring tools (Lighthouse, WebPageTest), and analytics platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose performance and usability issues
• Understanding of Web Core Vitals, page speed optimization, and user experience metrics
• Solid grasp of Web Accessibility standards (WCAG AA compliance)
• Experience with CI/deployment processes and DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Jira)

Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with SEO platforms like Conductor or similar tools
• Experience with performance testing frameworks and monitoring solutions
• Background with CMS optimization or WordPress-specific performance tuning
