Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Working with the Director, Sourcing Execution, this role will influence sourcing decisions, drive supplier consolidation and cost savings efforts. This role will partner with senior management to proactively develop strategies for low/medium risk sourcing initiatives. This role will gather and analyze data to help create playbooks and strategies to support the different business models for services currently under contract and prepare findings for senior management. This role will develop and negotiate contract strategies that will provide cost effective, sustainable solutions to RBC businesses, and optimizing total value generated from RBC's supplier base.

What will you do?

Sourcing Strategy Development and Contract Execution

  • Develop sourcing strategies (e.g. RFx, sole source negotiations, supplier consolidations etc.) that align with business technology strategy using industry analysis, business knowledge, spend analysis and sourcing expertise.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals by interpreting and analyzing proposals against business requirements to recommend the best solution supplier recommendation to senior management and/or Sr. Manager, Sourcing Execution.
  • Prepare and draft various contractual documents, working with legal team and other Centers of Governance to ensure all terms are compliant and meet business requirements and RBC contract standards.
  • Effectively prepare, coordinate and conduct all various supplier renewals in timely manner.
  • Provide support to business groups in managing supplier contracts and relationships and make necessary amendments to current contracts as necessary.

Relationship Management

  • Build effective and strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders by understanding key needs and dynamics across stakeholder groups, decision makers and influencers.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to influence and lead key sponsors and stakeholders through the sourcing process, to gain buy-in, overcome challenges and deliver on high priority, high-risk, complex initiatives.

Governance, Risk and Controls

  • Consistently applies an understanding of procurement policies and procedures in carrying out tasks. Demonstrates flexibility to fulfill urgent requests without unduly interrupting normal processes.
  • Support development and adherence to financial, fraud-prevention and risk management controls through the Procurement process.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 4 - 7 years' experience in procurement sourcing, supplier and relationship management
  • Understanding of procurement law and/or regulations
  • Leads low/medium complexity deals with total contract value between $250,000 and $3Million
  • Experience running and facilitating RFx initiatives
  • Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, business acumen, analytical skills and experience leading and supporting stakeholder interactions/relationship
