Your key responsibilities and career path
As a FAAS Manager, you will be a professional member of our team, responsible for both guiding our staff and senior consultants – and building our culture - while also developing long-term client relationships and networks principally through project delivery and business development efforts. FAAS – FO focuses on supporting finance leaders in assessing, designing, and implementing innovative and effective finance operating models, processes, and technologies across all areas of the finance function. In addition, we also contribute to improving the data integrity and quality, management accounting, and financial systems of our clients. As such, our team members combine technical accounting skills, practical experience in financial reporting processes, cost and management accounting, performance management, systems and analytics, as well as deep industry experience.
As a FAAS FO Manager, you will help finance leaders meet challenges that their teams are currently facing. You will work with them to achieve their potential acquisition, divestiture, process optimization/digitization, cost accounting, financial systems, data analytics, and accounting standards implementation objectives – sometimes many at the same time. You will offer them innovative advice for optimizing processes, using cutting-edge technologies and creating value for their organizations.
You will actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You will help to develop long-term client relationships and networks, as well as develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to service client needs. Your role will be to lead projects or workstreams, support or lead business development activities, and develop junior staff, while working with a wide variety of clients across multiple sectors.

Business responsibilities
- Lead/support external client consulting engagements involving the advancement of the CFO agenda, looking at a company's internal finance and accounting processes and advising clients on solutions to increase processing efficiency, drive automation or reengineer existing processes to better align with future state target operating models, support data analytics and technology solutions, etc
- Identification and assessment of business needs, development of solutions tailored to client needs, assessment of the Finance function, performance of operations diagnostics, optimization of financial processes, provision of tailored training, financial and business modeling
- Lead / support business development initiatives including service offering development and roll-out, proposal development, responding to RFX's, and participating in oral presentations
- Specialization in a particular area, service offering, or industry and ability to support subject matter advisors and relevant go-to-market activities in this area
- Assist in managing the financial and commercial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees, and communicating issues to project leaders; and
- Build strong internal relationships within FAAS and across EY's service lines including Consulting, Assurance, Tax, and Strategy & Transactions
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines
Practice Development responsibilities
- Promote an innovative and team-oriented work environment
- Develop people through effective coaching, supervision, and mentoring
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
- Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining, and training Finance & Performance Management professionals
- Maintain an educational/training program to continually develop personal skills
- Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures, including project & proposal quality & risk management
What we look for
- Excellent spoken, written, and presentation English language skills
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, commerce, business administration, or data analysis/management
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience
- Strong knowledge of at least one of:
- Financial accounting or audit
- Finance transformation and/pr process optimization/process documentation in at least one of the core finance processes
- Planning, budgeting, forecasting, and/or financial/business analysis
- Performance measurement and management
- Business performance reporting
- Cost allocation and management
- Experience in delivering projects that cover multiple stages of the full project life cycle of assessment, design, and implementation
- Experience in using software tools such as the MS Office suite, process documentation (e.g., Visio, LucidChart), financial/data modeling, data analytics (e.g., Python)
- Dedication to teamwork and leadership, with experience in managing and/or mentoring junior staff and providing direction to team members
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to think critically and identify creative solutions outside of the box and thrive on new challenges
- A high level of motivation and a self-starting attitude
- A willingness to travel and/or meet other client needs on short notice
Ideally, you'll also have
- A professional accounting designation such as a CPA or equivalent
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
- French language skills are an asset
- Track record with a blue-chip consulting firm in the field

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
- Toronto: $105,000 to $155,000
