Critical Systems Labs Inc. (CSL) is a small but mighty engineering consultancy focused on the analysis of software-intensive, safety-critical systems (e.g., aerospace, automotive, energy, defense, marine navigation, medical technologies and rail signaling). Our collaborative team is internationally recognized for our expertise in the management of safety risk and security vulnerabilities. Much of our work is based on emergent technologies, including AI enabled systems.
As a Software Developer with CSL, you will contribute to the development of advanced software tools used to support the analysis of safety critical systems. You will drive new features from concept and design through to implementation and testing and work with our engineers to understand the function of the tools, the goals of end users, and the tasks and environments in which the tools will be used. This role is suited to someone who is eager to take initiative, learn quickly, and make the most of a high-opportunity, high-ownership environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
· 2+ years non-internship professional software development experience
· Knowledge of object-oriented design principles
· Demonstrated experience with Java and TypeScript and/or JavaScript with bonus points for Spring and Angular
· Demonstrated experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL)
· Demonstrated experience with Git version control
· Demonstrated experience writing test code (e.g., unit testing, integration testing)
· Must currently reside in Canada and be legally able to work in Canada. (We are unable to offer sponsorship.)

· Base salary range: CAD $80,000 - CAD $120,000. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.
