Site Description: Kingston Health Sciences Centre is southeastern Ontario's complex, acute and specialty care, research and teaching hospital. Consisting of our Hotel Dieu site and Kingston General site, as well as the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario and our research institute, we care for more than 650,000 patients and their families from across our region.

Position: Temporary Full-Time Healthcare Chart Courier - Providence Care Hospital / Kingston Health Sciences Centre

Site: Providence Care Hospital- 752 King St West

Hours: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:00 hours

Payrate: $18.43/hour

Overtime Method: Ontario ESA

Job Description:

• Present a visible and alert presence
• Perform drop-offs/pick-ups between Kingston hospitals and off-site buildings in and around Kingston
• Documentation on courier runs; detailed report writing/note taking
• Use of 2-way radio communication
• Use of cellphone technology
• Deliver time sensitive items between sites
• Pick up and drop off scheduled runs
• Respond to Stat deliveries
• Deliver inter-departmental mail and confidential documents
• Provide above-average customer service to all contacts
• Responsible for reporting required vehicle maintenance/care for actioning
• Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid driver's license - Class G (or equivalent)
• Clean driver's abstract
• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Ability to lift up to 50LBS
• Ability to walk extended periods of time
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)

  • Immunization Form: KHSC Immunization Forms
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
• English proficiency (oral & written) is required
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
• 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
