Sr. Credit Solutions Manager, Credit Solutions, Commercial Automotive
Purpose
The Senior Consultant, Risk Insights is responsible for contributing to the profitable growth and quality of the Bank's Automotive Commercial Credit portfolio for by performing financial solutions related activities for clients including risk analysis deal structuring, and credit applications for High Risk Accounts and other accounts, as assigned. The Senior Consultant, Risk Insights is also responsible for recommending corrective action on deficiencies and problem accounts as appropriate.
The incumbent interfaces directly with clients at time, in partnership with the Sr. Relationship Manager. As well, the Sr. CSM liaises with Global Risk Management (GRM) through the credit decision-making process.
Accountabilities
Contributes to the profitable development of Automotive Commercial Credit business by:
- Ensuring the timely analysis, structure and presentation of credit / financial solutions proposals within prescribed portfolio;
- Providing prompt and sound recommendations in the analysis and adjudication of credit proposals;
- Recommending alternative terms, conditions and covenants to provide a viable banking proposal to the client within sound credit lending practices;
- Restructuring marginal proposals into bankable deals where possible;
- Providing advice and solutions to staff on high risk accounts through the credit structuring process and identifying and recommending monitoring and risk mitigation procedures to the CAST and Credit Solutions team members, other Commercial Banking groups and/or to bank partners including Global Banking & Markets and Global Wealth Management;
- Work directly with GRM partners to ensure a timely adjudication process.
Contributes to training and coaching of staff by:
- Developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for CAST and Credit Solutions Teams.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to keep the team informed and compliance.
Ensures the accurate communication of the terms and conditions of an authorization and supervises the effective and timely implementation of same by:
- Reviewing all written authorizations to ensure accuracy, completeness and clarity for high risk accounts.
- Ensuring prompt follow-up for acceptance of the authorization and reacting swiftly to any problems, amendments, extensions, reporting to senior management where necessary;
- Promptly and effectively addressing issues surrounding the adequacy, quality and completeness of loan documentation and security;
- Liaising on any required changes with the Sr. RM and following up for the accurate execution and delivery of same prior to disbursement of funds; Providing GRM with prompt feedback when credit authorizations differ from those requested.
Ensure the ongoing quality of the high risk account portfolio through control and administration of the specific conditions and reporting requirements as specified in individual authorizations are adhered to by:
- Advising senior management of any credit weaknesses developing within individual accounts, by ongoing awareness and analysis of relevant financial, legal, political, technological, and industry information.
- Adhering to any regulatory and internal Bank policies and requirements;
- Ensuring adherence to Information, Security and Policy Privacy Requirements.
- Complying with regulatory requirements as part of the service process, including Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) Privacy and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements, process and guidelines;

- A MBA or a professional designation (CPA, CFA etc.) would be of value
