Department: Recreation Therapy - Shoreham Village

Responsible To: Manager of Recreation and Volunteer Services

Shoreham's Recreation Therapy department is currently accepting applications for a Student Recreation Programmer.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the implementation of recreation therapy programs that are based on needs, interests, and capabilities of residents
  • Assist staff with creating new and innovative programming
  • Assist staff with additional special projects and/or minor administrative tasks
  • Understands and works within the Recreation Therapy service and department goals and objectives outlined in the Recreation Therapy Operational Plan
  • Develops and maintains relationships with resident family members
  • Ensure Shoreham Village policies and procedures are maintained to ensure safety of self and others
  • Assist with the daily operations of recreation department
  • Assist in ensuring there are adequate recreation supplies
  • Cleans and checks all equipment, reporting all necessary repairs to the Manager of Recreation
  • Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Clean criminal record check
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required
  • Must attend in-service programs while on duty as required
  • Able to lift/ move up to 30 lbs.
  • CPR/First Aid
  • WHMIS

Must be eligible to work in Canada - Must be between ages 18-35 years old

Hours of Work: 80 Hours Biweekly (8 Hour Shifts) Days, Evening
