Reporting to the Communications & Community Relations Advisor, you will support and assist overall communications for a broad variety of stakeholder relations, including municipal and community services, corporate initiatives, programs, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications Assistant

  • Support and assist with the development and implementation of­ communication plans;
  • Support marketing initiatives, programs, education and awareness campaigns;
  • Draft, edit, and proofread communication materials and communications copy;
  • Assist with maintaining and creating content for websites and other electronic platforms; ­
  • Use creative skills to develop visually appealing collateral to enhance communications;
  • Conduct research and collect data to inform communication plans and projects;
  • Monitor and collect website analytics;
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and logistics of internal and external events, meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Site Guide

  • Lead site and underground guided tours of the Churchill Falls Generating Station;
  • Serve as the primary contact for visitors and respond to enquiries. ­

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program.­ You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

What We're Looking For:

  • Outstanding writing, proofreading, and editing skills;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Solid grasp of communications planning, marketing, and stakeholder relations with foundational knowledge of communications and public relations best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and standard office applications and software;
  • Familiar with maintaining and updating website platforms;
  • Strong attention to detail and applies sound problem-solving skills;
  • Comfortable in public facing roles with excellent interpersonal skills.

What You'll Need:

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution related to communications, public relations, marketing, or business. Students currently enrolled in the above programs will be considered.
  • A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Must possess a Class 5 Drivers License

Relocation Support

Churchill Falls is a company-owned town supporting the Churchill Falls Generating Station, one of the largest underground hydroelectric plants in the world. Relocation to Churchill Falls will be required. Relocation expenses and subsidized living accommodations are provided to the successful candidate.
