The Opportunity
As a valued member of our Operations Team at our Electrical Maintenance Centre (EMC) location, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the daily operation of the EMC, warehouse and inventory functions;
- Performing maintenance and inspection of shop, yard and storage sheds;
- Monitoring contractor pickup and delivery of materials;
- Retiring identified equipment;
- Receiving, restocking materials, parts and equipment delivered to the EMC;
- Picking and packaging orders, including basic shipping/storage crate construction;
- Maintaining stock levels of small tools, supplies and equipment;
- Operating machinery, tools and forklifts plus EMC crane;
- Assisting with substation equipment maintenance;
- Assisting with scheduling and logistics of EMC vehicle fleet maintenance;
- Controlling the issue and tracking of test equipment;
- Maintaining a computerized inventory system;
- Delivering materials and equipment to job sites;
- Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications include:
- Graduation from high school and well-rounded experience in a warehouse and/or logistical role.
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
- Requires a productive and focused team player.
- Knowledge and/or experience with electrical equipment and/or basic carpentry would be an asset.
- Knowledgeable in the use of computers.
There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40 km of the EMC office. Compensation is as per the current Collective Agreement.
