Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. (EMA- TSX), is responsible for developing and managing Emera's investments in the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric development. With offices in St. John's (NL), Bottom Brook (NL), Halifax (NS) and Woodbine (NS), ENL owns and operates the Maritime Link; the subsea electric power transmission lines that connects the island of Newfoundland to Nova Scotia. In addition, ENL is an investor in the Labrador- Island Link transmission project. This transmission system transmits electricity from the Muskrat Falls site, across the Strait of Belle Isle, to the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland.
Emera Newfoundland and Labrador is hiring for the position of, Co-op Student, CONA Student (BB) for the Summer 2026 term with their reporting point will be Bottom Brook site (approximately 35 KM from Stephenville, 65 KM from Corner Brook – just off TCH)
This position may require travel to various facility sites in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia .
What you'll do:
We'll treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- Environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
- Assist in operations planning to support maintenance of Maritime Links assets , this will include but not be limited to development and execution of preventative maintenance inspections of the assets including transmission lines, High Voltage DC converter stations, switchyards and related equipment.
- Provide technical support to HVDC technicians and Engineer
- Work with technical groups to review documentation, schedules / work progress and to provide document control at sites
- Support for special projects at sites and working with contractors to accomplish tasks.
Who you are:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team and/or independently
- Proven technical writing, reporting and organizational skills
- A Valid Driver's License
