Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, Equipment Supply Technicians will be a key part of a team that provides a well maintained, safe, effective, and efficient fleet of vehicles within Paramedicine and Medical Transport; designed to give optimal customer service and patient care. In addition, they will provide maintenance repair to provincial Paramedicine and Medical Transport vehicles and support the management of base station supplies and general maintenance.

Equipment Supply Technician will ensure all ambulances are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned to the highest standard, and stocked in accordance with NLHS and NLPR policies and procedures. Technicians will regularly document parts and supplies, complete work orders, complete scheduled deep clean and decontaminations of ambulances, and other related duties as required. Ideal candidates will always demonstrate professional courtesy and excellent customer service, exhibit exceptional levels of safety, good decision-making skills, and initiative.

On a scheduled rotation at their respective Eastern or Western Regional Fleet Centres, Equipment Supply Technicians will provide 7 day coverage to assist with provincial fleet management. Some travel outside the region may be required.

? moves, lifts, or carries equipment ranging from 10 to 50 pounds
? position is rated heavy to very heavy
? operates a large vehicle (ambulance sized) through city and rural streets and competently maneuvers the vehicle in reverse, solely dependent on mirror use
? wearing appropriate PPE while deep cleaning ambulances, encountering contamination, and/or working in a garage environment
? Uses body movement to bend, crouch, kneel and reach, during cleaning and maintenance activities
? Completes repetitive tasks requiring attentiveness and alertness when handling various chemicals used for cleaning

Job Qualifications:
? Possession of a valid Class 4 Driver's License as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador
? Valid WHIMS Certification
? Valid First Aid and CPR certification from an authorized organization
? Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification is an asset
? Ability to work a flexible schedule
? Demonstrated experience with light mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance
? Proficient with computer usage and software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc?)
? Effective oral and written communication skills
? Critical and sound decision-making skills
? Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills
? Has the ability to work alone with minimal supervision
? Exercise a significant degree of discretion and independent judgment
? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required
? A satisfactory Driver?s Abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration is required
? A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
? Consistent demonstration of NL Health Service's core values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (ICARE)

Preferred qualifications:
? Completion of high school preferred, equivalent work experience may be considered;
? Experience in inventory and supply management is considered an asset;
? Experience in vehicle detailing is considered an asset;
