We are a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about providing excellence in client service by assisting individuals resolve their debts to government within their financial ability to pay.
Using a variety of computerized systems, the successful candidates will work with department clients to address inquiries on collection policies and procedures in accordance to applicable legislation and negotiate repayment arrangements. This position requires a high level of independence and judgment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Supervisor, the successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Addressing inbound client inquiries, including advising of applicable benefit programs and negotiating repayment arrangements in accordance to applicable legislation and collection policy.
- Performing outbound contacts to inform individuals of their current outstanding government debt.
- Calculating repayment options.
- Documenting debtor account collection activity and correspondence

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from High School, supplemented by a one (1) year related post-secondary diploma, and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidates will possess the following technical competencies:
Ability to use Office Technology, Software and Applications
Knowledge of Applicable Legislation and the Department's Policies and Procedures
Knowledge of department's administrative processes, practices and procedures
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in two or more of the following areas:
Microsoft Office Suite experience (ex. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Interacting with difficult clients
Experience with ICE or other telephony systems and software
General knowledge and understanding of legislation and policy regarding collections
General understanding and experience with New Brunswick student loan and property tax programs
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
Salary: $2,043 - $2,481 bi-weekly - Administrative Services Level 5 - Administrative Assistants, Clerical and Regulatory, Office, Data Processing and Duplicating Equipment Operation
