Reporting to the Director, Corporate Functions Finance, the Senior Manager is one of three (3) on the team that collectively oversees planning, forecasting and analysis of operating expenses for Finance, Audit, Legal & Secretaries, Analytics and Global Corporate Affairs. The day-to-day processes for these functions include being a finance partner to key contacts (up to SVP level), providing support and advice on plan, forecast, monthly reporting and management reporting. They will also perform detailed analytical work, draw key messages and create effective presentations for senior management to support decision making. The Senior Manager will also support the Director to foster a high-performance team that acts as a value-added Finance partner. They will build trusted stakeholder partnerships with our function partners, Business Line and Corporate Function Finance teams and act as an important point person within the team.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Manage the planning and forecasting process, design templates to gather information, consolidate and analyze submissions, challenge where necessary, and write commentary for reporting.
  • Mange monthly reporting, review results for reasonability, identify variances requiring attention/entries, write commentary on monthly results and submit reporting.
  • Mange the annual business line allocation process, challenge submissions from the functions, analyze results and provide meaningful reporting to Business Line Finance teams on variances.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting to businesses throughout the year as needed.
  • Produce effective and insightful management reporting to leadership teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to key leaders in the Corporate Functions
  • Develop and sustain strategic relationships with key contacts, business partners and stakeholders (Corporate Functions, BL Finance, CF Finance, etc., to deliver on mandate and provide value-added insights
  • Act as a change agent, identify new and/or improved processes and look for ways to present a compelling, visual narrative to leaders.
  • Work with direct reports to develop and execute meaningful employee development plans; recognize direct report development needs and take an active role in addressing gaps.
  • Exhibit self-awareness around one's own impact on the team and when necessary adjust leadership and motivational qualities to maximize team performance.
  • Facilitate an inclusive work environment with strong performance orientation and open communication

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance or similar discipline
  • CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to tell a compelling narrative to explain financial results to non-Finance leaders
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models, pivot tables. Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, EGL, OBI, Hyperion and SmartView is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), including communication with senior management (VP+) as well as convey information to non-finance professionals
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coach a team of financial professionals
  • A results-oriented individual with ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and work accurately within tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand and support the needs of a wide range of partners in HR, Marketing and Real Estate, while balancing Finance's need to support cost containment/reduction
