Salary Scale: (CG-28) $26.92 - $29.80 per hour
The successful candidates will be a member of the broader NLSchools Finance team, with this position reporting to the Director of Financial Services/Comptroller (NLSchools)
Duties:
This position is responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of the functional aspects of NLSchools enterprise financial systems (Cayenta & SDS). The Budget Analyst is responsible for:
- Assisting in the management of NLSchools budget, including data gathering, compilation and preparation as well as the preparation of a monthly budget monitoring report via Cayenta-Oracle Mapping
- Maintaining budget data and systems, entering approved budget information including updating and transferring budgets as necessary as well as completing regular budget reconciliations;
- Preparing and analyzing detailed salary information annually, providing bi-weekly salary reports and completing necessary journal vouchers to ensure salary expenses flow to the appropriate accounts;
- Completing detailed analyses to identify coding errors, process improvements and cost reduction strategies;
- Responsible for the management of school photocopier expenses including in-depth financial analysis, monitoring, forecasting and recommendations for future resourcing;
- Reviewing/approving Request to Hire submissions to ensure requests have approved funding for the fiscal year;
- Completion of journal vouchers to support accounting standards as well as appropriate expense category;
- Responding to budget and general ledger inquiries from schools and divisions as required;
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2-3 year diploma in Business Administration (concentration in accounting preferred) (equivalencies will be considered);
- Experience in the preparation, administration, analysis and support of the budgeting process;
- Experience engaging and collaborating with stakeholders;
- Knowledge of accounting principles/practices;
- Knowledge of Cayenta/Connect Finance/Oracle systems a significant asset
- Proficiency in Excel, technology and Google Suite
- Ability to work independently, collaborate as part of a team environment and manage time and tasks;
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
