What is the opportunity?

The Manager, Regulatory Initiatives, will support Wealth Management's Operational Risk management team with expertise and counsel to contribute to regulatory change and risk-based initiatives primarily for WM. This includes support for the design and execution of regulatory programs which will include: risk and control identification/assessment, change management, risk reviews on the operational risk impact of major change initiatives, and process improvements. The Manager will assist in implementing the organization's strategic efforts to comply with governmental and other regulatory mandates.

What will you do?

  • Support the Director in executing Regulatory initiatives for WM and provide regular reporting
  • Assist in managing new and on-going cross segment or cross line of business Regulatory Initiatives, or other specific WM risk initiatives
  • Provide updates and reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Regulatory Initiatives on assigned Operational Risk, Regulatory and Governance priorities
  • Support efforts to embed operational risk awareness and best practices across the business
  • Develop and execute on project plans with guidance from senior team members
  • Support the WM Cross-Border program activities and assist with executive reporting
  • Prepare management requested reports for senior management and WM teams to support decision making

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in regulatory reporting, operational risk practices, audit or compliance functions
  • Financial services sector experience and knowledge of the wealth management and asset management businesses
  • Experience in project management or executing structured changes
  • Proficient MS PowerPoint skills to create presentation materials
  • Strong collaboration skills, including working in a cross-functional environment
  • Good communication, business writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet multiple deadlines
  • Solid analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in output

Nice-to-have experience

  • Knowledge of securities law and regulatory environment for financial institutions in Canada.
