Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will perform front-line client services, including answering questions from custodian banks, brokers, investors and/or customers.

What will you do?

  • Maintains client files, performing data entry and account processing duties (e.g. verifying accuracy of transactions)
  • Performs other clerical duties as necessary, such as preparing reports requiring specialized procedures, answering phone calls, bookkeeping, completing routine forms and maintaining records and filing, etc.
  • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain product information, and address complaints
  • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of business transactions and other activities
  • Compute, record and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports
  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance, plus 4 years customer service experience
  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Experience in data entry
  • Experience dealing with clients by phone, resolving issues and explaining services
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time
  • Ability to keep information organized and confidential

Nice-to-have:

  • Advanced user proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, spreadsheet/financial accounting skills, and any other related accounting software is an asset
  • Knowledge of financial systems and associated procedures is an asset
