Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Provides information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments. Works directly with Trading and Sales users to build strategic tools supporting the Equity Derivatives QIS business.

What will you do?

  • Designing and coding application programs; performing testing for developed applications.

  • Reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.

  • Ensuring the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintaining records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.

  • Conducting analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.

  • In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying mathematical and financial models.

  • The ability to communicate complex mathematical models and technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including traders, risk managers, and executives.

  • A strong attention to detail, particularly under pressure, to identify subtle errors in logic, data pipelines, or model assumptions that could have significant financial consequences.

  • The adaptability to move fluidly between long-horizon research and urgent production issues, while adjusting to evolving market conditions and business priorities.
