Spacing Saw Operator

SNB Wood Co-operative Ltd. is currently seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Spacing Saw Operators. This position involves pre-commercial thinning operations in young forest stands to promote healthy forest growth and improve stand quality.

Responsibilities:

Operate a spacing saw (brush saw) to thin young forest stands

Identify and remove undesirable tree species and poor-quality stems

Maintain safe working practices in a forestry environment

Perform basic maintenance on equipment

Work efficiently in outdoor conditions and varying terrain

Requirements:

Experience with a spacing saw or chainsaw is considered an asset (training may be provided)

Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor conditions

Strong work ethic and ability to work independently

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

Safety-minded with proper use of PPE

Competitive production-based pay (piecework)
