About the Role

The Security Systems Administrative Support guard performs various clerical and administrative tasks to support Security Services management. This guard also coordinates the issuance and retrieval of corporate keys and access cards and fobs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the ID card, Access Control, and Key Control programs including Assure ID, SimpleK, Axiom V Enterprise Security System, and Morse KeyWatcher TrueTouch.
  • Process requests through onboarding and offboarding application systems.
  • Respond to inquiries related to access control and key control.
  • Perform comprehensive audits in required areas: CCTV cameras, security keys, temporary access cards, inactive access profiles, and office supplies.
  • Review access levels with designated authorities for ongoing update and improvement.
  • Run database reports of cardholders and entry points for investigating and troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform door schedule changes at any City facility upon request or statutory holidays.
  • Participate in ongoing projects for the development and improvement of Access Control and Key Control.
  • Update and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a database of accurate records comprising access requests; complete filing and archival of records as required.
  • Assist with design and development of Key Hierarchies.
  • Act as backup for Coordinator, Key & Card Access; Dispatch and Communications; CCTV Review and Administrative Support.
  • Assist with patrols and other Security Guard duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must meet minimum Standard Guard requirements.
  • Must meet minimum Dispatch/Communications requirements.
  • Must have good cognitive, interpersonal, and communication skills; critical thinking; sound judgment.
  • Proficient with computers; experience using Microsoft Office, incident reporting software, and CCTV investigation software.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience; must be interviewed and approved by City of Brampton Security Services Management.
  • Completion of a Law and Security / Police Foundations or related program is preferred and considered an asset.

  • Pursuing a career in security administration, systems management, or public safety operations.
  • Highly proficient with computers and security platforms including access control systems (Axiom V), ID card programs (Assure ID), and key management (SimpleK, Morse KeyWatcher).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for database management, auditing, and record-keeping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to respond professionally to access control inquiries.
  • Comfortable performing comprehensive audits across CCTV, keys, access cards, and office inventory.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and sound judgment when managing access levels and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Able to assist with security guard patrols and dispatch duties as a backup when required.
