Position Summary

Medavie Blue Cross continues to grow and deliver on innovative solutions for internal stakeholders and external clients. As a member of the Enterprise Business Analysis team you are a catalyst for change between evolving business needs and the delivery lifecycles of corresponding solutions. Your primary objective is to be the liaison between Business and solution delivery teams with a focus on fostering a collaborative environment that embraces a holistic "end-to-end" business perspective throughout the lifecycle of solution delivery. Your strong communication, facilitation and analytical skills will be utilized to capture business needs, identify stakeholder impacts, and effectively liaise with both the Business and solution delivery teams to deliver and adopt quality solutions for our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with CPMO to define and schedule business analysis activities/deliverables based on project complexity and constraints.
  • Establishing and maintaining a communication framework that facilitates the sharing of business analysis deliverables and the management of expectations with all solution delivery stakeholders.
  • Fostering a collaborative environment that embraces a holistic "end-to-end" business perspective throughout the lifecycle of solution delivery.
  • Independently managing business analysis activities, deliverables, and schedules in alignment with the overall solution delivery schedule to ensure timelines are met; raises risks/issues to stakeholders appropriately with a "solution" mind set (i.e., mitigation strategies).
  • Leading and facilitating business analysis elicitation activities with appropriate stakeholders to clarify, prioritize and document business needs.
  • Leading and facilitating business requirements lifecycle management activities to ensure business needs are clear and agreed upon in relation to the solution scope being delivered.
  • Conducting business process gap analysis between current and future states to clarify and communicate change impacts for the adoption and ongoing support of the solution scope being delivered.
  • Collaborating with Quality Assurance (QA) to clarify business requirements and determine appropriate test coverage based on prioritized business needs, change impacts and project constraints.
  • Initiating "feedback loop" activities throughout the solution delivery lifecycle to elicit and act upon improvement opportunities for the business analysis framework as needed.

Required Qualifications
Education: College diploma, bachelor's degree, or relevant experience
Work Experience: 7+ years of progressive work in a Business Analyst role
Other Qualifications:

  • Business Analysis Certification (IIBA) or certification is in progress.
  • Process Improvement Certification (Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen) or certification is in progress.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis, including interpreting trends, synthesizing insights, and supporting decision-making using structured and unstructured data.
  • Proficiency in BPMN and UML modelling to document processes, requirements, and system interactions with clarity and precision.
  • Experience operating as an enterprise-level Business Analyst, managing cross-functional and cross-departmental dependencies, and navigating complex stakeholder environments.

Computer Skills: Proficient using spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software. Assets include exposure to SharePoint, JIRA/ALM, process modelling software (e.g., Visio, iGrafx).
Language Skills: English, written and spoken. French would be considered an asset.
Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range:
73,465 - 82,648 CAD

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
