ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental health.

Pediatric services include outpatient clinics, Emergency Department call coverage, inpatient coverage, routine neonatal care, and attendance at difficult deliveries. There is opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary clinics in the areas of development, behaviour, obesity, and chronic disease, with further diversification based on the physician's interests. The position offers a vigorous and varied caseload and the fulfillment of serving families in this rural part of the province.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible for registration and licensure as a Pediatrician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services
  • Recent changes to registration have reduced barriers and allow doctors with comparable credentials to work in our province more quickly ? approved licensure pathways now exist for specialists from Ireland, the UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and other CPSNL-approved jurisdictions

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents
  • Provide on-call duties within the department
  • Deliver outpatient clinic, Emergency Department, and inpatient coverage
  • Provide routine neonatal care and attend difficult deliveries
  • Participate in interdisciplinary clinics (development, behaviour, obesity, chronic disease)
  • Work within a regional team with a focus on person- and family-centered care
  • Promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Available Incentives:
