ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Labrador-Grenfell Zone is seeking a General Surgeon to join the team at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative environment while contributing to high-quality surgical care across the region.
St. Anthony is a scenic coastal community offering a safe and welcoming environment with access to outstanding outdoor recreation. The successful candidate will enjoy a varied surgical caseload and work closely with a supportive interdisciplinary team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of the Labrador-Grenfell Zone
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Relevant clinical experience (asset)
- Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
- Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and supervise surgical procedures
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care
- Act as consultant to other physicians
- Support regional General Surgery services, including travel to other Labrador-Grenfell Zone sites as required
- Deliver telehealth services
- Provide on-call coverage for General Surgery including weekends and holidays
- Work collaboratively with a team of physicians and nurses to deliver required services
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Base Salary: $263,672 – $285,596
Available Incentives:
- Physician Signing Bonus — $150,000 + $25,000 top-up
- Approved relocation expenses with a two-year commitment to NL Health Services
