ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services ? Labrador-Grenfell Zone is seeking a Family Practice Physician to join the Labrador West Health Centre Family Care Team (FCT) in Labrador City, NL. The FCT mandate is to provide patients in the Labrador region who do not have a primary care provider with access to high-quality primary health care services.

Care is delivered using an interprofessional collaborative approach, where patients see the right provider at the right time and place. The team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, a diabetic nurse educator, LPNs, pharmacists, social workers, a dietitian, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and clerical support. All providers are expected to practice to their full scope. The FCT aims to provide continuity of care to improve health outcomes and patients' quality of life.

The successful candidate will manage a roster of patients, demonstrate a strong patient focus, excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in collaborative team-based practice. Flexibility in hours may be required to offer daytime, after-hours, and weekend clinics. Care will be delivered using an EMR platform.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible for licensure as a Family Medicine Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a rostered panel of primary care patients
  • Provide full scope family medicine services within the interprofessional Family Care Team
  • Deliver care using the EMR platform
  • Offer clinic availability during daytime, after-hours, and weekends as required
  • Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • Annual Retention Bonus
  • Annual Leave ? 20 working days
  • Bereavement/Compassionate Leave ? 3 working days
  • Compensatory Leave ? 5 working days (after 1 year of service)
  • Family Leave ? 3 working days
  • Education Leave ? 5 working days (non-cumulative)
  • Sick Leave ? calculated at 2 days per month of service (maximum 480 days)
  • Study Leave ? 10 days per year

Available Incentives:

  • Physician Signing Bonus ? $150,000 + $25,000 top-up
  • Physician Recruitment Incentive Pilot ? $300,000 ($150,000 per year)
  • Come Home Incentive ? $100,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
  • Family Care Team Incentive ? $75,000 (contact recruiter for details)
