Associate, M&A Advisory, Roynat Capital
Purpose
In collaboration with both senior and junior bankers, provide financial and strategic advice to public and private corporations, financial sponsors and other private capital providers who are interested in selected industries while ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities:
- Support senior bankers in preparing deal execution and pitch material to complete and secure transactions, respectively
- Assist clients with financial modelling / pro forma analysis, due diligence, and other bespoke requests to progress on transactions
- Responsible for traditional mergers & acquisition activities, origination and execution
- Supervises execution process, including full review of marketing materials, oversight of resources and completion of mandates
- Supports junior bankers and co-ops in their training; acts as an available resource to aid in their integration
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team
- Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits
- Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment
Dimensions:
- Canadian mergers and acquisitions banker with focus on few assigned industries / clients
- Supporting Scotiabank Investment Banking domestic and international clients as required
- Geographies covered include Canada and foreign jurisdictions as appropriate
Education / Experience / Other Information:
- 7+ years of experience in Mergers & Acquisitions
- Bachelors of Commerce at the University of Toronto
- Deep knowledge of corporate finance, including M&A, financings (equity and debt), accounting, etc.
- Strong knowledge of various industries – mining, CIR, and TMTH
- High professional standards including a strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork
Working Conditions:
- Work in a standard office-based and work-from-home environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
- Domestic / international travel as required, as appropriate and subject to senior management approval / permission.
