Definition of Work:
This position reports to the Regional Manager of Rehabilitative Services with professional practice support by the clinical leads for Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. This position is a para-professional position involving therapeutic work as directed by a Licensed Occupational Therapist and / or a Licensed Physiotherapist. This position will be part of the Home First initiative. Duties involve assisting with the delivery of client directed intervention plans and performing a variety of department maintenance activities. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. Regional travel will be required.
Required qualifications:
? Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
? Completion of an approved Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
? Demonstrated knowledge of body mechanics and lifting techniques.
? Willing to work a flexible work schedule.
? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
? A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
? Valid Class V Driver's license.
? Use of private vehicle is required.
