Job Summary
The Clinical Physiotherapist II will work in the Centre for Pain and Disability Management (CPDM) within Pain Services. The program receives referrals from across the province and is supported by an interdisciplinary team of highly trained practitioners recognized for their expertise in chronic pain management and patient education.
This Clinical Physiotherapist II position is responsible for providing specialty physiotherapy assessment, interventions, group therapies and education in Pain services. Work is performed as part of the interdisciplininary team and group patients within the CPDM. There is possibilities of working and providing guidance to the interdisciplinary team within the pain clinic .
This Clinical Physiotherapist II position plays a key leadership role in Pain services. This Clinical PT II position may orient, evaluate and mentor staff as well as participate in program evaluation and quality initiative activities of the Program. This position will act as a provincial physiotherapy expert in pain services and as such provides advice/information to physiotherapists across the province on an as needed basis.
Supervision and delegation to Physiotherapy Support Workers may be an expectation. The PT will be responsible to precept physiotherapy students and offer other clinical education experiences to students within NLHS Eastern Urban Zone. This position reports to the Manager of Pain Management and maintains accountability to the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Consultant for professional integrity and professional practice issues.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized school of Physiotherapy is required.
Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists (NLCP) is required.
A minimum of three years' experience within the last five working as a Clinical Physiotherapist with an adult clients is required.
Successful completion of a post entry education course in Orthopedic Level I (or equivalent as determined by NL Health Services) is required.
Demonstrated effective communication, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and their families in both a one-on-one and/or group environment.
Effectively translated and communicated knowledge in the specialized area of physiotherapy practice to others.
Possessed proven leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, coaching, mentorship and training to physiotherapists, physiotherapy support workers and students.
Ability to prioritize caseload and patient needs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a member of an interprofessional team.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
