About the Team

The GED and Synthetic Prime technology group supports the GED/Synthetic Prime Business comprehensively—from front office sales and trading through to settlements, market risk, credit risk, liquidity reporting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting/compliance, and all intermediary processes. This role demands a high degree of subject matter expertise, adaptability, responsiveness, and hands-on engagement with various stakeholders.

Job Description

This position reports directly to the Manager, Engineering within the Global Equity Derivatives & Synthetic Prime Solutions group. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a leading-edge technology team, driving innovation and excellence in the Equity Derivatives space.

Role & Responsibilities

The role requires in-depth derivatives knowledge, exceptional communication skills and a good technical hands-on grasp, requiring frequent collaboration with teams across finance, operations, risk management, front office, and other technology divisions. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively utilize and enhance the existing TDS GED/Synthetic Prime technology platform, which comprises a range of proprietary applications and microservices alongside the sell-side vendor trading platforms such as Sophis and SwapOne.

This role encompasses, but is not limited to:

  • Leading and contributing to the end-to-end delivery of applications and frameworks for the GED/Synthetic Prime business, with a strong focus on strategic and synergistic planning, schedule adherence, scope management, and handling change and issue resolution.

  • Designing, developing, and enhancing system integration layer with Sophis / SwapOne vendor platforms as well as other proprietary in-house applications and quantitative analytics library.

  • Enhancing trade capture, market data, and life cycle management tools for our front office sales and trading desks as well as integrating new products and model enhancements across various upstream/downstream technology teams and stakeholders.

  • Interpreting, designing, and constructing risk and P&L metrics—including vega topographies, gamma ladders, spot / volatility metrics, and correlation sensitivities for both vanilla and exotic equity derivative products—utilized by traders, quants, and risk managers.

  • Enhancing the performance and scalability of the compute infrastructure through cloud technologies (AKS and RAY), GPU acceleration, and dependency pricing mechanisms.

  • Developing and maintaining a high-performance, real-time, and scalable trading platform and valuation service for valuing Equity Derivative products, leveraging microservices and other emerging event driven architecture and technologies.

  • Providing L3 SME support to resolve issues on overnight batch, pricing, P&L and Risk valuation issues.

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or equivalent professional experience is required.

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services industry with exposure to Market Risk or Credit Risk.

  • Familiarity with Equity derivatives product offerings and their associated risk profiles.

  • Effective stakeholder and partner engagement with a professional approach.

  • Strong understanding of Software Engineering principles, Software Development practices and Software Development lifecycle.

  • Proficiency in executing queries, constructing use-case scenarios for business requirements, and implementing minor enhancements.

  • Solid knowledge of Python, relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server), non-relational databases (MongoDB), REST APIs and various data formats including JSON and XML. Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong interpersonal abilities to clearly explain and present concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining robust processes aimed at preventing issues, diagnosing problems, and ensuring timely incident resolution while applying appropriate quality controls.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, relationship management, and soft skills to effectively influence stakeholders to drive consensus on requirements and solution proposals.

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to perform complex analyses and produce detailed reports.

Preferred/Nice To Have Qualifications

  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages including C#, C++, JavaScript, among others is considered advantageous.

  • Experience implementing vendor cross-asset trade processing platforms, with Sophis and SwapOne experience considered a significant plus, alongside in-house developed microservices and applications.

  • Experience with cloud computing, data platforms, delivery pipelines, and analytics.

  • Experience working alongside quantitative development teams to integrate new features or products using modelling and pricing libraries
