What is the Opportunity?

As a Senior Foreign Exchange Specialist, you are a trusted strategic partner to Large Commercial (LC), Core Commercial (CC), and Business Markets (BM) clients, driving Transaction Banking growth through expert FX solutions. Your role is critical to supporting business development and new client acquisition (NCA) in collaboration with Client Relationship Teams (CRTs), RBC Capital Markets (RBCCM), and partners, while growing existing relationships through proactive FX discovery, tailored advice, and optimized working capital solutions. You'll deliver exceptional client experiences by leading end-to-end FX onboarding, education, and sustained adoption of RBC platforms, underpinned by capabilities in Business Development, Critical Thinking, Client Centricity, and Financial Acumen.

What Will You Do?

1. Support Business Development & New Client Acquisition (NCA):

  • Collaborate with RBCCM and CRTs to enhance market presence and attract interest in RBC FX solutions.
  • Identify FX opportunities during NCA activities, providing tailored advice to close deals.
  • Drive market share growth through expert FX guidance.

2. Grow Existing Client Relationships:

  • Implement a proactive contact strategy to ensure best-in-class FX execution and client coverage.
  • Optimize clients' working capital cycles with FX and cash management solutions.
  • Cultivate relationships to maximize FX spread revenue and identify referral opportunities for RBCCM and partners.
  • Conduct quarterly portfolio reviews to uncover underdeveloped or win-back opportunities.

3. Deliver Exceptional Client Experiences:

  • Lead FX product discussions, discovery, and tailored advice to drive adoption of RBC solutions.
  • Educate clients on digital payment platforms and electronic trading tools.
  • Strategically manage pricing tiers to balance risk, profitability, and client relationships.
  • Oversee seamless onboarding and conduct post-onboarding follow-ups to ensure satisfaction.
  • Proactively assess high-value clients' evolving currency needs through relationship calls.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, demonstrating stewardship and problem-solving.

4. Professional Development:

  • Leverage the Commercial Capabilities Framework to build a development plan aligned with the 4 Es (Experience, Exposure, Environment, Education).
  • Use Workday's "My Check-In" to track progress and commitments.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Expert knowledge of FX platforms, products, and cash management solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with CRTs, RBCCM, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and client-centric problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in business development and relationship management.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Direct experience in Commercial Banking or Transaction Banking.
  • Certifications in FX, Treasury or financial services (e.g., CTP, ACF, CFA).
