Position Details:

Position: Full Time Security Guard

Site: Seneca Polytechnic - Newnham

City: North York, ON

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Rotating Continental (0700-=1900 / 1900 - 0700)

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.50 / an hour

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols throughout Newnham's extensive facilities, academic buildings, residence, and student spaces
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies with confidence and care
• Provide excellent customer service and information to students, visitors, and faculty
• Monitor access, enforce campus policies, and assist with crowd management during events
• Prepare thorough incident reports and assist with investigations
• Engage with Toronto Police, Fire, EMS, and campus partners as needed

Qualifications

• Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
• Ontario Security Guard License
• WSIB Approved Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
• Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus demands
• Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience an asset
• Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus
• Must not be a current Seneca student at Newnham
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
