Meridia has partnered with MetOcean to recruit a Logistics Coordinator to join their Operations team based in their Dartmouth facility.
Role Description
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will ensure the smooth movement of materials and finished products across the supply chain. You will maintain accurate ERP data, coordinate shipments, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet production and customer delivery requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and reporting
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, customs compliance, and regulatory adherence
- Monitor shipments in transit to ensure on-time delivery and address any discrepancies
- Collaborate with freight forwarders and carriers on routing, rates, and timelines
- Track shipment data, manage claims for damages or shortages, and initiate insurance processes as needed
- Support production line material distribution and customer order fulfillment
- Generate reports, provide feedback to improve ERP processes, and perform related administrative duties
- Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, and regulatory requirements for all shipments, including controlled goods
Your Qualifications
We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. Success in this role comes from a proactive, problem-solving mindset, strong communication, and a collaborative approach, you'll be connecting with colleagues and partners every day.
Your qualifications include:
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing or production.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, logistics software, and standard shipping procedures.
- Experience with international shipments, customs documentation, and regulatory requirements is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and support process improvements.
- Experience with specialized or regulated goods is an asset; training will be provided.
