Third Engineer

Job Overview
The Third Engineer will serve as engineer of the watch opposite to the Second engineer. Responsible for operation and maintenance of engine room equipment, including routine inspections and troubleshooting. Participation in safety drills, and emergency response team duties are mandatory.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Fourth Class Marine Engineering Certificate of Competency
• MED in Basic Safety Training
• MED in Survival Craft Training
• MED in Advanced Firefighting
• Valid STCW Marine Medical
• Prior factory freezer experience is preferred

Responsibilities
Reporting direct to the Chief Engineer. The third engineer is responsible for monitoring engine room and vessel machinery, ensuring operations are within safe parameters, while maintaining a detailed engine room log. Perform regular maintenance on machinery, including fish processing equipment.
