Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Corporate Functions Finance by supporting Financial Management for Global HR. The Senior Analyst supports the delivery of financial planning, analysis, and reporting to enable effective expense management and informed decision-making. The role contributes to the production of annual budget, business line allocations, and ongoing financial oversight, while ensuring strong financial controls and timely management reporting for Corporate Functions Leadership and HR Partners.

Accountabilities

Corporate Functions Budgets

  • Support the delivery of the annual budget process for Human Resources and Finance, working closely with internal partners to consolidate and analyze budget submissions.
  • Liaise with budget coordinators to gather and validate financial submissions and operational data supporting budget development.
  • Prepare analysis and briefing materials to support budget discussions with department and function leaders, ensuring key decisions and updates are reflected in budget submissions and reporting packages.
  • Maintain strong data governance by validating information sources and implementing controls to enhance the integrity and completeness of financial data.
  • Develop templates and streamlined processes to improve the efficiency and consistency of budget preparation and reporting on Oracle Hyperion.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support the consolidation and oversight of Corporate Functions budgets.
  • Partner with Corporate Functions stakeholders to develop, refine, and maintain business line allocation methodologies, assess the impact of changes, and communicate updates to impacted teams.

Planning, Forecasting and Reporting

  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of key management reporting.
  • Prepare monthly staffing reports and perform variance analysis to provide insights into key drivers of financial performance.
  • Provide quarterly staffing variance analysis, assessing the financial impact of organizational changes, transfers, and initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of expense dashboards, including variance analysis, and management commentary.
  • Contribute to the delivery of quarterly forecasts and financial updates, including analysis related to business line allocations.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages for Corporate Functions Leadership.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support Finance and Corporate Functions initiatives.
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals for HR departments to support accurate financial reporting and month-end close processes.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across Corporate Functions, Human Resources, and all internal partners.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner by providing clear, value-added financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support Finance and Corporate Functions initiatives
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals for HR departments to support accurate financial reporting and month-end close processes.
  • Support ongoing financial oversight of business operations by identifying risks, opportunities, and potential cost optimization initiatives.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance or similar discipline
  • Successfully completed, or working towards, a CPA or equivalent designation an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models, pivot tables.
  • Experience with EGL, OBI, Hyperion, SmartView, Power BI and Alteryx is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with peers and superiors across organizational lines.

Ability to sustain a broad-based knowledge of the Bank's and Corporate Functions' strategy, operations, policies and procedures.
