­Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Production, you will provide support to the Protection and Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Utility Worker, and Tool Crib departments.

  • Oversee Generation asset groups within the established NL Hydro Asset Management Framework.
  • Coordinate and manage trades resources required for asset and maintenance operations.
  • Ensure availability and effective use of tools and equipment required for work execution.
  • Support execution of weekly, monthly, and annual asset work plans.
  • Allocate resources to ensure work plans are completed effectively and safely.
  • Monitor and report on work execution metrics.
  • Assist with the development of annual work plans.

­You will ensure that work is performed with a focus on safety, the environment, quality, cost, schedule, productivity, and effectiveness, and reports on work execution metrics. You will recognize the dynamic nature of long and short-term asset work plans and the expertise of others, and provide input to long-term planning function.

­Responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

­What We're Looking For:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and project teams.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach with demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making ability.
  • The ability to implement strategy through good interpretation of cost estimate data, project scheduling and risk analysis.
  • A strong commitment to NL Hydro's vision, core values, and guiding principles.

­What You'll Need:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university­or a journeyperson trades certificate.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the field.
  • You have demonstrated ability in the area of multi-disciplined, multi-faceted maintenance management and have a high degree of demonstrated technical knowledge for the assets assigned.
  • Demonstrated abilities in computer applications, including but not limited to, include the Microsoft suite of applications, JD Edwards, Showcase Strategy, computerized inventory and maintenance programs.
  • You also possess a valid driver's license.
  • For engineers, you must be a member in good standing with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • An equivalent level of technical education combined with demonstrated technical knowledge and experience will be considered.

Please note this is a full-time position located in Churchill Falls. Churchill Falls is a company-owned town supporting the Churchill Falls Generating Station, one of the largest underground hydroelectric plants in the world. Relocation to Churchill Falls will be required. Relocation expenses and subsidized living accommodations are provided to the successful candidate.
