Job Summary

MRDC Operations Corporation is hiring seasonal laborers for seasonal highway maintenance work. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who enjoy working outdoors, want steady weekday hours with opportunities for overtime, and are looking to gain hands?on experience with tools, equipment, and highway operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general outdoor physical labour
• Set up signs and cones around work areas
• Assist with basic preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Support guiderail repairs, road shoulder work, signage installation, asphalt patching or crack sealing, concrete repairs, and litter control
• Operate small gas-powered equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, whipper snippers, and chain saws, and operate small hand tools.
• Complete daily paperwork (pre/post trip checklists, timesheets, safety forms)

Requirements

• Valid driver's license (any class)
• Experience using basic hand tools
• Experience operating small gas-powered equipment (lawn mowers, whipper snippers, trimmers, chain saws, etc.)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

Assets (Not Required)

• Knowledge of highway maintenance or roadwork
• Familiarity with the Work Area Traffic Control Manual

Work Environment

• Outdoor work with exposure to traffic, noise, and equipment
