Position Overview: To ensure the efficient and profitable operation of Paladin Securitys Newfoundland Branch. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity, enable employee satisfaction and achieve the companys corporate goals. Essential Job Functions Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the clients across Newfoundland Establish branch goals for growth and participate in the business development efforts Establish and implement short and long range operational strategies and plans Oversee and monitor all facets of company business in the branch Direct the management, organization, coordination, integration and control of the branch operations Establish and maintain effective relationships with pertinent external groups Participate in budget preparation as required by the VP of Atlantic Canada Oversees the adherence to budget once prepared Monitor the monthly financial statements to ensure the profitability and viability of the companies business in the province of Newfoundland. Routinely and regularly monitor margin reports, billing rates and wage costs to ensure profitability is maintained. Enact changes as needed. Routinely and regularly monitor overtime rates and provide guidance to H/R and Scheduling to reduce it Oversee and lead the training process Establish measurable targets to effectively evaluate the performance of all subordinate staff Implement and monitor accountability statements for all subordinate staff Troubleshoot incidents that occur at any clients premises or any serious incident that may affect Paladin or its clients Liaise with CSMs to ensure that Paladin is providing the best service available Oversee the hiring process conducted by the H/R staff and participate as needed Oversee the scheduling process and ensure manpower resources are deployed appropriately and the companies contractual obligations are met Review and approve as required, invoices presented by suppliers for payment Review and approve payroll and billing Adhere to and ensure compliance of all management to the Six Guiding Principles as depicted in the H/R section on the corporate intranet Develop and support staff with potential management abilities to take part in Paladins Management Training programs Monitor daily and nightly reports and Incident Reports and ensure the appropriate action is taken by the responsible manager Regularly inspect departments and areas of the company and ensure the accountability of the responsible managers Ensure Senior Management is kept informed of the progress of the branch Provide written reports to the VP of Eastern Canada as required Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be required by senior management from time to time Job Specification A Tertiary degree in Business or Health Care Administration or related discipline and specialized training in protection services or criminology; or equivalent education and experience. Minimum of three years supervisory/managerial experience in security and / or fire safety services. Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on fire safety, building codes, security, and protection of privacy Must have strong leadership, social interaction and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office software Ability to write and present proposals to large organizations An interest in golf or other social activity used to build client relationships Creative ability to foster new and better ways to perform and succeed Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
