Job duties

1) Specific skills:

• Schedule work / establish work schedules.
• Supervise staff.
• Supervise, co-ordinate, schedule, and review activities of workers.
• Train staff / workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
• Prepare requisition orders to replenish stock.
• Requisition materials and supplies.
• Handling animals.
• Bathe and shampoo animals.
• Perform animal grooming activities.
• Clip animal nails.
• Clean animal ears.
• Provide customer service.

2) Supervision

• 3 to 4 people.

· Work conditions and physical capabilities:

• Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Physically demanding.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

· Work setting:

• Pet grooming shop.
• Air conditioned.
• Noisy.
• Odours.
• Wet/damp.

· Security and safety: Criminal record check.

· Credentials (asset / not mandatory but nice to have):

• Pet First Aid.
• Fear Free Certification.
• Membership in the Ontario Dog Groomer's Association.

· Work experience: 1 to less than 7 months as a supervisor besides work experience as a dog groomer.

Terms of employment: Permanent position, full-time.

• Hours of work: 40 hours per week, flexible hours during the day.

Wage: $36.25 per hour plus bonuses and gratuities
