Genesis AI Garage works with early-stage startups to design and deploy practical AI solutions. We are hiring a recent post-secondary graduate who wants to apply their AI and data skills to real-world problems, not just academic exercises. This role is ideal for someone who has built strong project experience and is ready to transition from learning to building in production environments, with guidance from experienced mentors.
What You'll Work On
- Collaborate with startup teams to understand real business problems
- Support the design and development of AI/ML solutions
- Work with real-world data: cleaning, preprocessing, and structuring datasets
- Build and test models (e.g., classification, regression, basic NLP or CV tasks)
- Assist in deploying models into simple production workflows (APIs, pipelines)
- Present your work clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
What You'll Learn
- How AI is applied in real startup environments
- How to move from notebooks ? usable systems
- How to make trade-offs between accuracy, cost, and complexity
- How to work in fast-moving, ambiguous projects
Core Requirements
- Recent graduate from a post-secondary institution
- Based in Newfoundland and Labrador (program requirement)
- Strong Python skills
- Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals
- Familiarity with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
- Ability to work with messy, incomplete data

- You'll work with experienced mentors and technical leads
- You'll be exposed to multiple startups and problem types
- You'll receive guidance, but also real ownership of tasks
