Position Overview: As a Rapid Response Guard, you will work at various sites across Burlington & Hamilton including industrial, retail, healthcare, and office buildings. This dynamic role requires flexibility and quick adaptability to different environments

Position: Rapid Response

Site: Various Sites – Burlington, Hamilton

Shift: Continental Days (0700- 1900 hrs)

Payrate: $19.00/hr. - $21.42/hr.

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is AA after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols at assigned sites, including industrial, retail, healthcare, and office towers across Burlington, Oakville, & Hamilton, to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Operate security systems such as CCTV cameras and alarm panels, and promptly report any suspicious or unauthorized activity to appropriate authorities.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms, alarms, or other security threats; assist staff and patrons during evacuations or critical incidents as required.
  • Greet and assist visitors, clients, staff, and tenants in a professional and courteous manner.
  • De-escalate tense or disruptive situations, resolve conflicts professionally, and maintain a calm presence across various environments.
  • Accurately document site activities, incidents, and observations; complete incident reports, and security log in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with on-site personnel and local authorities to support a coordinated and effective security presence.
  • Enforce site-specific policies and procedures; address violations in a manner consistent with safety and professionalism.
  • Travel between different site locations as assigned; own vehicle is required to meet shift and deployment expectations.

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario Security License & First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
  • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella , Covid Vaccine two doses, and two step TB skin test
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Education in Police Foundations, Criminology, PSI, or Border Services is considered an asset
  • Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
  • Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
