Job Title: Temporary Full Time Dietitian/Foodservice Supervisor - Maternity Leave
Work Term: Mid-June 2026- Mid-June 2027

Job Description: The Clinical Dietitian/ Foodservice supervisor is a member of the interdisciplinary health professional team who directs and is responsible for the nutrition care and education of residents. The Clinical Dietitian will also be responsible for education of our long-term care staff. The Clinical Dietitian initiates a cost-effective medical nutrition therapy care process comprised of resident assessment, the development of resident-centered, goal-focused care plan, implementation and evaluation of the plan, and ongoing monitoring nutrition care plans. The Dietitian in their role as a Foodservice Supervisor will be responsible for assisting with menu planning, developing a quality assurance program and ensuring Occupational Health and Safety standards are met. They will also be responsible for supervising, scheduling, and mentoring Foodservice staff.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition/Dietetics required
- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship recognized by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice required
- Licensed by Nova Scotia Regulator of Dietetics required
- Three (3) to five (5) years' recent related experience in Long Term care is preferred
- Competency in dysphagia management and IDDSI
- Competency in oral and enteral nutrition support
- Strong resident focus care and ability to build solid resident/practitioner relationships
- Demonstrated collaboration, teamwork skills, and Customer service excellence
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills for working with residents, staff, and their families.
- Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health
