Job Title: Residential Care Worker
Location: Talbot House, Frenchvale, NS
Wage: $20/hour
Position Type: Casual / On-call and Full-Time
Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Job Description:

Talbot House is seeking compassionate and reliable Residential Care Workers to support men in recovery within a structured, supportive living environment. Staff play a key role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused atmosphere for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support and supervision of residents
• Assist with meal preparation and household duties
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment
• Support residents in following program structure and expectations
• Monitor and document resident activities and incidents
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and crisis situations
• Administer or support medication routines as required (if applicable)

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English (required)
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification (considered an asset)
• Valid driver's license
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform active duties
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working with addictions, mental health, or residential care (preferred but not required)
• Willing and able to successfully complete a criminal background check
