Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manager-Student Accessibility, the Exam Accommodations Administrator:
- Is responsible for test and exam accommodations, including working with students and faculty to ensure that accommodations are put in place through use of Accommodate software as appropriate
- Assists students with test and exam accommodation conflicts
- Ensures tests and exams through the Fred Smithers Centre have been adapted to meet the required accommodations, i.e. translation to braille, use of specialized software and/or adaptive technology - Kurzweil, enlarging tests, and setting up Dragon files
- Recruits, trains and supervises student invigilators and peer notetaking staff, inclusive of conducting interviews and payroll management
- Collects daily statistical information from test and exam requests
- Under the direction of the Manager, participates and organizes ongoing projects including research. Drafts proposals for various tasks and projects
- Provides accessibility support to faculty and promotes inclusion of students with disabilities
- Other related duties as required
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Exam Accommodation Administrator you will have:
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum 1 years directly related experience
- Experience using specialized software and/or adaptive technology
- Knowledge and understanding of disability issues
- Knowledge of Accommodate Software would be an asset
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays and evenings, as required
- Ability to work in a multifaceted environment as required
