Reporting to the Clinical Engineering Program Manager, you will be responsible to support, maintain and continuously improve the province's use and adoption of its Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This software provides means for Clinical Engineering staff to modify, access and store all information pertaining to the province's medical equipment in a single provincial database. It also provides essential risk-based prioritization of upcoming scheduled preventive maintenance.

You will work as part of a team that supports and advances patient care by applying engineering and managerial skills to healthcare technology throughout the technology lifecycle. Clinical Engineering Program Management is a service that contributes to safe, effective, and fiscally responsible healthcare.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Administration of the CMMS and associated solutions (Database, Web Request Portal, etc.)
  • Monitoring of CMMS performance, security, and adoption metrics
  • Supporting CMMS users through investigation and problem solving
  • Analyzing business needs, identifying any solution gaps and preparing/proposing options
  • Responding to stakeholders' inquiries about system behaviours, investigating reported issues with CMMS provider, and communicating system issues to stakeholders
  • Maintaining solution architecture for the CMMS
  • Working closely with the CMMS Committee to effectively prioritize and schedule activities
  • Performing and coordinating testing activities with CMMS provider and super-users
  • Supporting the implementation of technical solutions into production (e.g. minor/major CMMS releases and integrations to other technology solutions)
  • Communicating changes with stakeholders following approved upgrade/release process
  • Providing and coordinating formal and informal in-service education to CMMS users
  • Developing CMMS procedures and policies that guide and support the provincial Clinical Engineering operations
  • Performing routine quality assurance checks to ensure adherence with policies and procedures for consistency of the quality of services
  • Liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including SNB technical staff, clients, medical equipment vendors, third party support providers, and technical subject matter experts

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A university degree in Computer Science (or related discipline) and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. OR
  • A two (2) year College Diploma in Information Technology (or Clinical Engineering related discipline such as Electronics Engineering Technology) and a minimum of seven (7) years progressive CE or IT related experience.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • On occasion, travel throughout the province or outside the province may be required; you must posess a valid driver's license and a valid passport.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Working in a hospital environment
  • Data integration and transformation
  • Working in an Agile environment
  • SQL Server Queries, SOA, SOAP protocol, RESTful API and WCF programming
  • Building reports and data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI
  • Cloud based integration technologies
