Senior Financial Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the annual budget process which includes adhering to timelines and processes in the budgeting and forecasting cycles; analyzing data; ensuring high quality, timely information is available to the Finance Leadership and Operations teams, along with any regulatory requirements; and assist in the preparation of budget information packages for approval by the Finance Leadership Team, the Board of Directors and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Lead the month end and forecast processes to ensure the most detailed and meaningful variance analysis and forecast is delivered to stakeholders on a monthly basis
- Participate in the development and maintenance of tools for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis of key business metrics.
- Provide direction and assistance to staff at all levels related to budgeting, forecasting, transactional detail, financial reports and performance management
- Other related duties as assigned by the Senior Supervisor.
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities with high proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, most importantly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with members of various teams.
- Robust problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast past environment, managing multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Highly organized and deadline driven, committed to delivering results.
What You'll Need:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration supplemented with a recognized professional accounting designation. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a finance environment including experience in data extraction, budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience with business intelligence tools, data extraction, budgeting and forecasting tools.
- Experience related to the Electric Utility industry is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel within Newfoundland and Labrador.
