Moosehead Breweries Limited is Canada's last-major brewer still owned by Canadians. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has been operated by the Oland family since it was established in 1867.
We are currently recruiting for a Safety Coordinator to join our Operations team at the Saint John Brewery.
The successful candidate will have the drive to implement policies and procedures to improve the overall safety of all employees. This person is comfortable making decisions and can effectively communicate why decisions are being made at all levels of the business. Ideally this person is independent and has the ability to prioritize projects and assignments with some guidance from the Director.
- Implementing, executing, and auditing policies, procedures, work instructions and training related to safety.
- Liaise with government agencies such as WSNB
- Joint Health and Safety Committee member.
- Maintaining safety records
- Analyzing and communicating incident trends and providing guidance on improvements.
- Keep current with emerging trends and best practices within legislation and safety standards.
- Be the ambassador for our safety culture by coaching, mentoring, and assisting employees and contractors in following our safety practices and guidelines.
- Have the ability to work with groups and one on one to ensure that safety is top of mind and embedded in everything we do.
- OHS certificate or diploma from a recognized Post-Secondary Education Source
- Minimum of one year of related EHS work experience
- Ability to use Excel to track and record training, incidents, and budget. Create presentations for all levels of the organization in PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Maintain and update Safety Policies as per company and legislative requirements
- Demonstrated ability to remain logical and calm while working in high pressure situations
- Experience in Manufacturing, University degree or college diploma in a related field would be considered an asset
