Definition of Work: This position will work on site at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital and support Provincial Medical Services Department. This position works with the Senior Medical Director, Directors of Medical Services, Medical Staff/Physician Leadership, Physicians and Clinical Program Directors to provide consistent administrative support across a variety of functions within the Medical Services Department, including but not limited to, Recruitment and Retention, Locum Support and Coordination, Credentialing and Contracts and Finance. The incumbent will navigate onsite Medical Services inquiries and, in addition, will provide support across other sites and zones when required and as directed by the Medical Services Leadership team.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a college diploma in Office or Business Administration and will have previous experience working in a health care setting. Applicants having 3-5 years of direct experience working with multiple physician disciplines will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have strong administrative, organizational and financial management skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of computer software including word processing, spread sheeting, power point and access in a business setting. Excellent knowledge of medical by-laws, regulations as well as a familiarity with medical associations across the province is considered an asset. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to compile and analyze statistical information related to healthcare, specifically within the medical field. An ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and promote initiatives through a team approach are also required.
