About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office & Compliance Manager to lead our administrative and regulatory operations. This is a critical "hub" role where you will manage full-cycle financial tasks while ensuring our facility meets all federal and provincial seafood safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Administration:
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing.
- Process weekly payroll, including harvesters/fishermen settlements, T4s, and ROEs.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end financial reporting.
- Regulatory & Compliance:
- Maintain and audit records for CFIA compliance, including PCP (Preventive Control Plans) and HACCP documentation.
- Manage the application and renewal of provincial Fish Buyers Licenses and associated permits.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspectors and government agencies.
- Operations & Inventory:
- Audit daily inventory tracking of raw materials and finished goods.
- Reconcile system inventory balances against physical counts in the warehouse.
- Office Management:
- Review and optimize administrative workflows to increase office efficiency.
- Oversee general office supplies, equipment maintenance, and filing systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in office management or accounting, preferably within the seafood or food manufacturing industry.
- Compliance Knowledge: Direct experience with CFIA regulations and food safety documentation is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks,) and advanced MS Excel.
- Education: College diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
