Facilities Manager (Full-time, Permanent)Competition Number: TOP-300-002
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Engineering, this position is responsible for the operational leadership of Town facilities, including building and grounds maintenance, budgeting, procurement and contract management, health and safety, security and space management. The successful incumbent will provide leadership, supervision, and performance management to a multi-disciplinary team of employees and contractors. As well as assist in developing, preparing, and monitoring the budget for the facility; and prepare documents for tender, and project manage the work of contractors. Individuals with knowledge and experience with a variety of complex building systems and particularly those of a modern arena are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary diploma in Engineering Technology or equivalent;
- A minimum of five (5) years of increasing professional experience in facilities management is preferred;
- Three (3) years' of supervisory experience is required;
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License;
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines and think strategically;
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to create and maintain relationships;
- Strong problem solving, organization and negotiation ability;
- Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office; and
- Experience in working in a unionized and municipal environment would be an asset.
